Every kid. Every time.
When a child is removed from their home, a chain of events is set into motion. These events are focused on family preservation and reunification. While these are admirable goals and ones that we fully support, they are not always right. There are times that family preservation and reunification are possible but not at all in the best interest of the child. It has to be ok to put a child’s best interest before the metrics, appearances, and vague policies of the child welfare system.
Through research and experience we are working to create actionable change. We are striving to make the best interest of the child a main focus of the child welfare system through legislative reform.
